Early Payout Offers Explained: How 1UP Works
An early payout offer settles your bet as a winner before the final whistle if your team gets ahead. Here is how 1UP Early Payout works, which bets qualify and what happens in different match situations.
What an early payout offer is
A normal football match result bet is settled at full time. If your team leads 1-0 but concedes twice in the last ten minutes, the bet loses.
An early payout offer changes that. If your team gets a set number of goals ahead at any point in the match, your bet is settled as a winner there and then, whatever happens next. Some versions only pay out when a team goes two goals ahead. 1UP Early Payout pays out at one.
How 1UP Early Payout works
BetFusion and PlayWins both offer 1UP Early Payout on selected football matches. On those matches, a pre-match Match Winner bet on a team marked 1UP is paid out as a winner if that team goes one goal ahead, even if the game ends differently.
You place the bet in the usual way, at the normal odds. The promotion's terms say whether you need to opt in and whether any stake limits apply.
Which bets qualify
- Selected matches only. The offer applies to matches marked 1UP, not every game.
- Pre-match Match Winner bets. The bet needs to be on the team to win the match, placed before kick-off.
- A team, not the draw. A bet on the draw can't be one goal ahead, so it's settled in the normal way.
Bookmakers set the detailed rules, such as whether accas, bet builders or in-play bets count and whether there's a maximum stake, so read the offer's terms before you bet. Our football betting guide explains the other common markets.
Worked examples
You bet £10 on a team marked 1UP to win at 2/1. A normal winning bet would return £30: £20 winnings plus your £10 stake.
| What happens in the match | Normal match result bet | With 1UP Early Payout |
|---|---|---|
| Your team goes 1-0 up and wins 2-0 | Wins: £30 | Paid as a winner at 1-0: £30 |
| Your team goes 1-0 up, the match ends 1-1 | Loses | Paid as a winner at 1-0: £30 |
| Your team goes 1-0 up, then loses 1-2 | Loses | Paid as a winner at 1-0: £30 |
| Your team falls behind 0-1, then leads 2-1 | Wins if they hold on | Paid as a winner at 2-1: £30 |
| Your team falls behind 0-1, the match ends 1-1 | Loses | Loses: they were never ahead |
| The match ends 0-0 | Loses | Loses |
A bet is only paid once. If your team goes ahead and then wins anyway, you get the normal return, not double. To work out returns at other odds, use our bet calculator.
Is early payout worth it?
An early payout offer can turn some losing bets into winners, but it doesn't change the odds you're paid at or make a team more likely to win. A few things are worth weighing up:
- Compare the odds. A better price elsewhere can be worth more than the offer over time.
- It only helps when your team leads. If your team never gets ahead, the bet loses as normal.
- Bet the same as you would anyway. Don't raise your stake or bet on extra matches just because a match is marked 1UP.
