How free bets work
Most sign-up offers are "bet and get": you place a qualifying bet with your own money, and once it settles you receive a free bet token. You then use the token on a new bet.
With most free bets, the stake isn't returned if you win. A £10 free bet on a 2/1 winner returns £20 in winnings, not £30. Our free bet calculator works out the return for any stake and odds.
Terms to check
- Qualifying bet: the minimum stake and minimum odds, and whether it must be your first bet.
- Free bet restrictions: some free bets can only be used on certain bet types, such as accumulators or bet builders, or at minimum odds.
- Expiry: free bets usually expire after a set number of days.
- Payment methods: some deposit methods don't qualify.
- Cash out: cashed-out bets often don't count as qualifying bets.
- One per household: sign-up offers are normally limited to one per person, household and device.
