How to use the bet calculator

    1. Pick the bet type. For singles, doubles, trebles and accumulators, choose how many selections you have. Full-cover bets such as a Yankee set the number for you.
    2. Enter your stake per bet. This is the stake for each line, not the whole bet. A £1 Yankee costs £11 because it contains 11 bets.
    3. Tick each way if needed. Each way doubles the number of bets and the total stake. Choose the place terms for each selection.
    4. Enter odds and results. Type odds as 5/2, 3.5 or +250. Mark each selection as won, placed, lost or void.

The return updates as you type, with a breakdown by bet size.

    Bet types explained

    Bet Selections Bets What's included
    Trixie 3 4 3 doubles, 1 treble
    Patent 3 7 3 singles, 3 doubles, 1 treble
    Yankee 4 11 6 doubles, 4 trebles, 1 four-fold
    Lucky 15 4 15 A Yankee plus 4 singles
Canadian (Super Yankee) 5 26 Every double, treble, four-fold and five-fold
    Lucky 31 5 31 A Canadian plus 5 singles
Heinz 6 57 Every double up to the six-fold
    Lucky 63 6 63 A Heinz plus 6 singles
Super Heinz 7 120 Every double up to the seven-fold
Goliath 8 247 Every double up to the eight-fold

Bets that include singles (Patent, Lucky 15, Lucky 31, Lucky 63) pay out with just one winner. The others need at least two winners to return anything.

    Worked example: a £1 Yankee

    Four selections all win at evens (2.0). A £1 Yankee costs £11. Each double returns £4, each treble £8 and the four-fold £16, so the total return is 6 × £4 + 4 × £8 + £16 = £72.

    Non-runners, voids and Rule 4

A void or non-runner counts as odds of 1.0, so the bet carries on without it: a double with one non-runner becomes a single. In horse racing, if a horse is withdrawn after you've taken a price, the bookmaker may apply a Rule 4 deduction to your winnings. Enter it in pence in the pound, such as 10 for a 10p deduction. The calculator applies it to winnings, not stake.

This calculator doesn't cover dead heats, each-way bonuses or bookmaker-specific promotions such as Lucky 15 bonuses.

    Frequently asked questions

How do I work out an accumulator?

Multiply the decimal odds of every selection together, then multiply by your stake. Three winners at 2.0, 3.0 and 1.5 return 2 × 3 × 1.5 = 9 times your stake, so £5 returns £45.

What is the stake per bet?

It is the amount on each line of a multiple bet. A Lucky 15 at 50p per bet costs £7.50, or £15 each way.

    How are each-way multiples settled?

An each-way multiple is two bets: a win multiple and a place multiple. The place part uses each selection's place odds, so a selection that only places still pays on the place part.

What happens to my bet if a selection is void?

The void selection is treated as odds of 1.0, so your stake runs on to the remaining selections. In a single, your stake is returned.
